Gel shims are to be used in conjunction to the PIPERvibe Gel pad to achieve a very subtle boost to special problem areas such as the extreme high or low ranges of the instrument. This is often present on wood-railed instrument that are older and warped or the spring doesn't distribute enough pressure to those areas.  (see videos)
